I'm looking for some advise with regards to purchasing/funding another property. I have a mortgage on my property for £40,000 for 17 years. It's worth around £100,000 now, so with the equity of £60,000 and a extra loan of around £25,000 I was hoping to purchase another property and let it out. I don't know what the best…

Offseting a mortgage with an endowment
I'm thinking of converting my endowment mortgage to a repayment offset mortgage. Seeing as an endowment is really a glorified savings plan can I offset my new mortgage with it, or do building societies need 'raw' cash in your account?

I spoke to the halifax yesterday because I have realised our current rate is not as good as it could be (5.75% with daily interest). They suggested splitting the mortgage in to two...part…

Mortgage for less than £30,000?
My aunt is coming to the end of her fixed term and her interest rate goes up to 6.5% or thereabouts, in May. Admittedly, her payments will only increase by £38 per month, but I put her on to my mortgage broker anyway. He says that because her mortgage is so small it wouldn't be worth his or her while to remortgage and she…

Pathetic returns on Endowments
I was of the opinion that it may be wise to carry on paying my £48 per month into my Clerical Medical low cost endowment as I would be better off in the long run, but I think I'm wrong to do so. I have a sum assured of £12,560 and it was supposed to achieve £37,500 and cover my mortgage. I was shocked to receive my…

Standard Life eligibility for shares, new guidelines.
There have recently been new guidelines for who is eligible to receive shares and how. I remain slightly confused. I have a small policy ongoing which was in force on March 2004 as required, therefore I should receive some shares. Howecer, I had a much larger policy which matured on August 2005. This does not fall within…

Mortgage site that gives you half the commission
Hi, Please can someone help. Maybe I was dreaming but I am sure I once came across a website that gave you half the commission if you signed up for a mortgage through them. Please can someone tell me if it existed and if it still exists where I can find it. I've searched and searched but I cannot find it. Many thanks.
