Opening (and keeping) two LISAs in late 30s to double my options post 40?
I've been reading the recent frustrations of the current inability to open/transfer LISAs beyond the age of 40. I'm wondering whether it's wise to use one of my remaining financial years in my 30s to open a 2nd LISA (current one is with AJ Bell) so that post-40 I have two to potentially transfer between - if, for example,…

Switching funds
Hope this makes sense. Will this work? I hold funds in a S&S ISA. One of the funds I hold pays the dividend monthly and have just received this. Can I switch to a fund paying dividend quarterly prior to ex dividend, receive the dividend and then switch back to the monthly dividend paying fund for two months then switch…

iWeb platform functionality
Hi all. All of my non pension investments are in S&S ISA’s, the majority with Vanguard and a smaller amount with HL. I’ll be coming into a 6-figure sum of cash in the coming months and will need to open a GIA for it, with all the attendant considerations for dividend tax and CGT that comes with that. I plan on doing some…

Does the £85k FSCS protection matter for a S&S ISA?
I wonder if anybody could help with a query I've got... I've looked at various sources but not yet found a clear answer. So with cash savings I understand how the £85k FSCS protection scheme works if the savings provider went bust. I also notice that all the S&S ISA providers state that they are also covered by the £85k…

Experience of Tesco JISA online?
I may transfer JISA from Coventry as they have just dropped rates to 2.25% (from 2.95). Yes, I can get 2.5% at Loughborough BS (whom I have never heard of) but they operate by post only. I want a JISA that I can manage online (log in to see balance and make payments to). I was sold a pup by Coventry when I took out the…

Transferring Junior ISA (JISA) Whilst Resident Abroad
As a UK citizen/resident I opened a Junior ISA for our son,
now 3 with Nutmeg as a way to save for his future. Since opening the account
I’ve accepted a temporary position with the US parent organisation of my
employer, expected to be a non UK resident for the next few years. Ensuring
that I wouldn’t fall foul of any rules…

LISA Bonus Deduction
Afternoon all, Bit of a weird one here. I had a LISA with Hargreaves & Lansdown for a First Time Buyer deposit. I accidentally used the incorrect form to withdraw my savings and lost my Government bonus. I appealed this with H&L who declined my appeal so went to the Financial Ombudsman who also stated that I could not have…

ISA for house purchase advice
Hi all, I'm currently going through a divorce that's seeing me loose my (mortgaged) house and have to move into rented for a while. After all costs etc I'm going to be left with a lump sum of around £25,000 which I'd like to put to best use in around 2 or 3 years towards the purchase of another property. I'm looking for…

Dealing with old ISAs
Hi there I'm in the process of rationalising some old accounts. I currently have a help to buy ISA, to which I deposit regularly. I also have several old cash ISAs. Ideally, I'd like to combine those into one new cash ISA. However, as the Help to Buy is also a cash ISA, I know I can't pay into a second cash ISA. So I have…
