I phoned Yorkshire…

How to find if AIM share is ISA-ble?
Hi I've been interested in a few AIM shares recently but didn't go further as I have no idea how to check if they are allowable in my S&S Isa. (For those who don't know, AIM shares aren't allowed in S&S Isas unless listed on another stock exchange in addition to being AIM listed). How do I found out? Thanks in advance.

Who monitors openings of ISAs?
Who keeps tabs on the number of ISAs opened by an individual and the amount saved in them? I reckon it has to be HMRC using people's national insurance number. They would then excuse the bank or building society from having to send them the tax cut from the interest. After this they will no longer need to inform HMRC about…

ISA transfer question
I took out a new ISA with Santander in April this year for the current tax year and transferred my old ISA balance into it. I have not put any money in yet that counts towards this years ISA allowance. Without going into a list of issues I encountered with Santander, I'll just say that I'm fed up with them. My question is,…

Transferring Cash ISA problem
Ten weeks ago, I closed one ISA and opened another, transferring the balance and setting up a direct debit into the next ISA. This DD has not been acted on, even though a large chunk of money was moved from my old account to my new account, and my old bank have received the DD mandate from my new bank. What the new bank…

Junior ISAs on their way ?
I've just read that the Government are believed to be introducing Junior ISAs next year, whereby ISAs can be set up in a child's name but can't be drawn out until the child is 18. If this is true, it could be another way parents could help their children fund their way through university although the brief article didn't…

I am furious with the Barnsley BS
I am furious and I am looking for some guidance. You may remember I posted a few months ago because I took out a 1 year fixed term bond in July and decided I wanted to withdraw. Unfortunately they only give access to the money in exceptional circumstances which I don’t qualify for. Lesson leant and I’ve moved on. Or so I…

ISA Question
Hi, If you withdraw some money from your ISA during the Tax Year, can you still receive the tax free interest on the amount you use to top it back up again, or is that portion wasted? Eg, I had to withdraw £500 from my ISA during the year. Can I now only get tax-free interest on £4600, or can I fill it all the way up to…

Transferring ISA;s
I cant find the thread I'm looking for. I want to open a Halifax ISA in order to transfer a previous years ISA into it. However, it seems I have to put in £1 to open the account and then transfer the ISA afterwards. Wouldnt this £1 spent opening it be seen as 'this years money' and therefore prevent me from opening another…
