Northern Rock - Fixed Rate Warning
So after transferring my cash ISA to NR, I now find 2 months later that I cannot add to it. Since it is a fixed rate one, no further deposits are allowed after it is closed. It is also likely that it is too late to transfer to another provider (thats even if I could find a decent one to take £35k + a top up) given that…

Does anyone have a valid A and L phone number
Gawd knows what these people are playing at. They send me a letter saying they are unable to verify my details for an ISA application and then give me a phone number to ring - 08703 330 213 - which is not valid. I cant find another valid number anywhere. If it were not a national name Id have serious doubts about this…

Clarification: ISAs in one year
I can find a few references so I think I am right in thinking this but can someone confirm that I can 'open' as many ISAs as I wish, in one year, as long as only one of them is funded with 'new' money. So in other words, I have an ISA which doesnt accept transfers in. So I want to open a second ISA which does accept…

Investment ISA advice
Hi folks, I have an investment ISA and looking for some wise words to help me through the next month or two... I plan to cash it in within the next month or two anyway so it could be any easy answer. Do i wait for the end of the financial year or election before cashing it in. Or play it safe and cash it in now?

L&G (Barclays) Growth Portfolio Trust (Dis) (A)
Hi all, I bought an L&G (Barclays) Growth Portfolio Trust (Dis) (A) isa 10 years ago, it should have put on 50% by now but it is worth pretty much what it started at after I paid £100 to set it up. Barclays sold it to me and then it moved to L&G! I can't get an answer as to why it hasn't made a bean so far. If I phone…

Are you limited to open one Cash ISA in a year?
I would like to open a new Cash ISA that offers a high interest rate (e.g. A&L) but since this does not allow transfer in of funds, I wonder can I open another Cash ISA account that allows transfer ins? My current ISA will stop giving a favourable interest rate by the end of March so I would like to tranfer it to another…

I have old ISA with Coventry and interest rate is awful, so I applied for an A&L Direct ISA with the intention of transferring all of my old ISA in (including allowance for 2009/10 which was paid in April 09). Now, I find that there is a better rate ISA with A&L - can…

Next tax year i'll have £5,100 cash to deposit. Right now i'm not sure what is best to do. I can compare interest rates somewhat, but get confused by the bonuses if i'm honest, and the jargon doesn't help either Basically i'm hoping one of you can explain (jargon free - so by all means put it to me in dummy terms, i wont…
