ISA limits...putting money in/taking out
Hi all, This is probably a really stupid question, but one I'm not sure of, so sorry in advance! I have a mini cash ISA with M&S, which the limit per year is 3k. It has about £1900 in at the moment, and I need to withdraw about £500. I should be getting an inheritance of about £22k in the next few months (hopefully), which…

National Savings & Investments
Hi I have some savings in a National Savings & Investments account (not taxable), and I was wondering if I could still apply for a student maintenance grant? The grant would help towards the tuition fees and living expenses, along with my savings. On the form you fill in for the grant, (PN1 form), it says to declare all…

Fixed ISAs - Should I transfer them?
Hi, I'm a bit confused with what to do with my ISAs. I currently have two with Halifax: 1. 5 year fixed at 4.8% opened Feb 04 with 3K 2. 3 year fixed at 5.75% opened Dec 06 with 3K Now I just found out that you can transfer ISA funds, as previously I have just been opening new ones. Is it possible to do that for these…

Advice please re Mini-Isa's
Please bear with as I'm new to this. In April of this year I put 3k into a mini-cash ISA with the Bradford and Bingley. What I didn't realise until I joined this brilliant site is that I could have also put 4k into a mini stocks and shares ISA as well (they never told me). Anyway my questions are these:- 1) Is it advisable…

Transfer all ISAs into one, or leave as lots of seperate accounts
Hello all, Firstly, despite the title, this isn't just applicable to ISAs but to any account (ISA, savings, pension etc..) Lets say I have 2 "accounts" that are EXACTLY the same (ie same AER, same charges etc.. etc.. etc..) and I have £1,000 in each account. Would I get more interest if I put all my money into just one of…

Stocks and Shares ISA - Where to start?!
I'm slowly picking through all the threads that look relevant but in the meantime I thought I'd ask anyway as everyone's situation is different. I have the maximum amount I can put in a Mini Cash ISA. I also have around £35k which is in a savings account. Whilst I don't envisage needing access to it, I don't want to tie it…

Cash in 1 ISA or part of 2
My wife and I both have identical cash ISA's from nationwide, that we started in January 2005. Each year we have invested the maximum of £3,000 each. We now need about £12,000 and want to take it out of this money. Is it best to take it all from one, or to take half from each? Thanx to anyone with more brains (doesn't take…

Guys, I'm worried... Funds are already £50 down!
Afternoon all, I recently started investing in funds (3 months ago to be exact), after doing a LOT of research. Unfortunately, they are already losing money, the 2 main ones being the 2 UK Other Bonds listed below. When I opened these, I did so with £500 each, and have not touched them since. The other 6 funds listed below…
