ISA v e-savings
I know I will be getting more interest out of my ISA, but I just wondered if there was an easy way to work out how much. I could put £1,000 into it today which is just sitting in my e-savings. I like having the e-savings as I can transfer money between accounts online, so if we find we're broke, I usually take it from…

Abbey ISA
Hi All, After some "thoughts" I'm going to be moving/closing my ISA as I was dissappointted with the rate of 4.5% for this years rate (which suppose is my fault for not keeping an eye on other deals) so thinking now would I just be able to close my current abbey and open a new one with someone else as I haven't started…

Question about A & L ISA with Premier Account
I'm currently investigating my options for the next tax year, and I understand that A & L offer 8.1% on ISAs if you have a premier account with them and you pay in £500 pcm. Am I right in thinking that after I've deposited the £500 for one month, I'm free to do with it what I want? If so, my plan is to take it out again…

Mini S&S 2006 - fund minimum
I was considering using this year's £4K allowance with Hargreaves Lansdown but it would be subject to a minimum £1K per fund when I decide where to put it. I would prefer to drip feed less in case there is a bit of a downturn this year. Is there any way round this with any of the providers? Does it matter?

Portman BS maturing Regular Saver ISA @ 5.25%
5.25% = the rate for Portman Bdg Society's REGULAR SAVER ISA (ISSUE 2) upon maturity, potentially as early as 6th April (was 8%) and auto-converts into EASY ACCESS ISA (5.25%). What cunning ideas have my fellow account holders come up with to gain a better rate? For instance, I'm considering possibly instructing the…

No tax saving for most in a shares ISA
It's disappointing to see Martin joining the IFA's in their end of tax year frenzy to urge to people to invest in "tax free" share ISA's. The fact is that for the majority of people there is no tax advantage (unlike cash and bond ISA's). The only way you could save tax would be if you regularly made a profit of over £8000…

What Savings Account Do People Use?
Hi, I didn't really have a savings account until the lady at Halifax persuaded me to open a RBOS telephone savings account (5.25%). Earlier, I had a WebSaver account I think that was tied to the regular savings account. I was looking around at other savings accounts and found the Alliance & Leicester DirectSaver savings…
