Direct Dial Insurance...Advice please.
I recently took out insurance with Dial Direct. Within the policy documents was an instruction to send back the signed credit agreement within a certain time limit or I would be charged £15. This I did. Much to my amazement whilst checking the bank account I noticed a payment of 20 pounds had been taken from my account. I…

Hastings Car Insurance BEWARE
Anyone who is insured with Hastings and is unfortunate enough to have a bump, or an alleged bump, do not rely on Hastings knowing what to do to defend the case. I have just lost in court against someone who fraudulently alleged that I had hit the body of his car (our wing mirrors touched - that's all) and caused the usual…

Accident no insurance
My wife got hit by a lady who was speaking on her mobile. The lady admitted liability and has signed a letter mentioning she was at fault. She has however requested that the damage be settled without going through the insurance company and she would have the car repaired. My suspicion is that she did not have insurance and…

Boiler cover advice. Renewal time am I over insuring?
I've just received a renewal notice for my annual boiler cover from Domestic and General. !Initially it doesn't look too bad - an increase of £1.50 PCM to £16.50 which includes cover and an annual service. On closer inspection though I think that they have changed the terms of the agreement so that should !the boiler be…

Buying a new and getting car insurance to drive it away.
Having just passed my test and looking to buy a new car, how do I go about getting insurance on a new car. Is it best to take out insurance now on the type of car I'm getting and then go looking around at the ones I've seen, or is that not advised. It'll probably be a private sale btw, thanks for any information.

Legal Expenses cover - buildings/contents
I have separate buildings and contents policies, both up for renewal. The broker has included legal expenses cover, just as he has done in previous years. Having read the legal policy I can find it hard to see any circumstance that I would need to claim on it. Most of the wording is related to employment rights claims and…

Co-op home insurance referral code
Hi all, I would like to get home insurance with the Co-op. According to the adviser, I can get £20 off the premium if I can be referred by a current Co-op home insurance customer. She also said that the referring customer would get £20 too. It would be great if someone in the big MSE community could help. TIA

Home Insurance - Depressed
It's time to renew my B&C insurance and I've been with IF/Halifax for 10 years now, just kept letting it auto renew. Got the quote through (it hasn't gone up that much this year, just expensive) and it's £556.50. Which seems expensive for a three bed semi, two adults no kids, includes accidental damage, legal, home…

Expensive car insurance
Hello this is my first post. I've got a question about car insurance, as I was expecting my insurance cost to drop slightly this year but unfortunately it went up by £100. I've checked directline, moneysupermarket, confused.com, comparethemarket and obtained what I thought to be the best quote. I am wondering what is the…

Do I need to report this?
Hi, I'm wondering if I need to tell my car insurance company about an incident which occurred yesterday evening. I wanted to buy a few items so I parked by the kerb behind a white van outside a small grocery shop in a quiet street. The van was delivering to the shop. The car was left engine off, lights off, with a…
