ADT Alarm System - Refused To Install Their Decoy Box Due Through Our Insulation
A couple of weeks ago we agreed to buy a basic alarm system from ADT (£99 install plus £25 p/m contract). We made it clear to the sales person that we had external wall insulation and that this would require either sleeved bolts or extended fixings for when they put their decoy box onto the outside of the house. We were…

Need advice on kitchen worktop
Visited my kitchen man last night, everything chosen: taps, extractor, carcass, colour and so on but before making a final commitment there is one disappointment I have and I want to see if there is a way around it. To be honest the budget doesn’t allow for granite. Quartz or Corian I haven’t priced but they seem to be up…

We moved in 9 years ago and still have the paint we bought to do the dining room. I opened a tin last night and the exposed metal has rusted and a bit flaked into the paint, but it stirred up and test patches went on fine. Should I use it? I am really torn! Thanks Rebecca

Keeping spotlight bulb up
I purchased some LED bulbs for the kitchen but one bulb keeps dropping down. I have the circle clips but it is to tight and won't go in to hold in place. Anyone got any ideas on keeping it in the socket as I can't get the clip and bulb in. If I use the halogen one it stays in as the clip goes in.

Radiator prices/Screwfix trade
If anyone has a Screwfix trade account, I wonder if you could possibly check a price for me? I priced up a load of radiators for a renovation job we're doing at home & compared prices with the Screwfix trade catalogue. Back in March the prices (when I added VAT) were a few £ different (trade a few £ cheaper). The Screwfix…

Megaflow boilers
I'm wondering what to do about my boiler. It's four years old, but I don't like it. The house I moved into recently has a floor-standing Worcester condensing boiler. There are two water tanks in the loft, both were picked up by the surveyor as needing to be replaced. Plumber is currently working on an estimate for these. I…
