For a large company employment, what generally is the position if you have pre-booked holiday time, then become long term "sick" due to an accident. Do you lose the time you booked? Thanks for any insights .

Bank holiday = late pay?
Hi all, I get the feeling this is going to be one of those 'like it or lump it' situations but it might be worth an ask! My OH is paid weekly on a Friday. Because of Easter weekend he's been told that he won't be paid until next Wednesday. Can employers get away with paying so much later than expected?

Our local government employer (Worcestershire County Council) have offered a temporary job (1 month contract) via a recruitment agency which they called an umbrella company. Signing off JSA problems?
Hello, I've been claiming JSA for a few months now, but I couldn't stomach going to the job centre AND no longer require the money any longer so I phoned up today telling them that I was going abroad and would like to stop my claim. So, last week I went for a interview as a editorial assistant at a medical communications agency. The interview went well but I didn't get it because I was considered ¨overqualified¨ (rolls eyes). Editorial assistant jobs only need a science degree. I have that and a PhD so yeah, maybe a fair point. However, today I have…

How long does your commute to/from work take?
In the process of home hunting and this has to be taken into consideration. Currently it takes me 30mins walk to get to work. I realise I am lucky to work local (I walk slow) and with my budget and the current housing market I realise I may have to spend an hour commuting even though I am reluctant to do so. Some people at…

Alleged Gross Misconduct
I have been suspended from work on full pay following an incident on April 4th. I work as a delivery driver and collided with a parked car on a night shift. I checked the car for damage and seeing as there was minimal damage (a few scuff marks on the rear corner of the vehicle) I admit I left the scene without leaving…

Missed Interview
Hi, I'm reasonably happy with my current job, however I got an approach about an interesting job from a recruiter. The job pays much better and looks very appealing as a whole - due to my own error I missed the interview thinking it was on the following week. The recruiter contacted me and I held up my hands admitting it…
