ID Fraud - How do i check if it has spread?
2 months ago my credit card co. phoned me about 2 suspicious transactions on my account. I confirmed they were fraudulent and new cards were issued. Today we got a letter saying that they were writing "to our old address" to confirm an address change. Of course we hadn't moved and I called them to warn them that someone…

Halifax debt increased despite minimum payments
I don't understand what I've done wrong, whether it's me who ballsed up or the Halifax, but having been paying the monthly minimum by direct debit on all my credit cards (MBNA was getting a higher fixed payment because it's the highest APR), I've just discovered that the Halifax debt has increased. It's all been running…

New Barclaycard 1% Cashback card
I was just about to log onto my Barclaycard account and noticed on the homepage that they have released a new card that pays 1% cashback on the first £2000 a year and 0.5% thereafter, up to £20,000 spend a year. This could actually work out better than the Egg Money World card as this one has no annual fee.:money:

Barclaycard lowering minimum payments!
Both my OH and myself had letters from Barclaycard this morning saying that the minimum payments on our CCs would be reduced to the interest for next month plus £5. Now some people might think this is a good idea, but I am just surprised that in the current climate Barclaycard are doing this. Yes, if we reduce our payments…

Using credit card as bank to avoid cash withdrawal charges abroad
My daughter is currently studying in Europe. A friend has said she heard of somebody who had loaded money on to a credit card (Nationwide I think, but can't be sure) and withdraws cash on it without charge because she is in credit. Is this possible? I used to use Asda's credit card purely for buying petrol, and used to…

Credit card took too much
My closing balance on my credit card at the end of the last statement was 83.55, due to be taken in full from my current account on 4 September. On 1 September I transferred 26.00 from my savings directly to my credit card. This should have left 57.55 to pay from my current account. But on 4 September, they took 83.55.…

Santander zero 3 week delay
Just called A&L after waiting 3 weeks from sending the "guaranteed acceptance" letter back to them. They had no record of me ever applying or having received the letter. I was told to re-apply through the internet. See what happens now as this isn't a "guaranteed" application. That's 3 weeks so far and counting.......

When would I start paying interest..
I have a card with zero balance and the interest free period ends on the 27/9/09. I might need to use it before then (kind of emergency) if I can't find the actual cash. The interest free period is 60 days, so is it the 60 days after the introductory period ends or after the transaction is made.
