Rules on collection bags
Hi folks, I was wondering what the rules are regarding these charities who put collection bags through your door? I've asked the Charities Commission, but they're being their usual kind of vague and (they think they're) helpful selves, so I thought I'd ask the wise peeps on MSE. Many thanks, MothballsWallet

How to donate clothing to a homless person?
I would like to donate some clothes to a homeless person but I'm wary of approaching a random individual. I would like items to go to someone living rough, who will have a real need, any ideas on how I should do this?

The idea is basically to cook food and serve it to anyone who wants it. Obviously there must be health and safety implications in serving food to…

Charity sweets

It wasn't until she got home that she found out only 10 pence of that £1 actually goes to Macmillan. What a swindle by Sweets4,…

Christmas Present Donations
Hello, We like to do regular charity giving throughout the year, mainly to our local food banks and the likes. We would love to donate a present or two to some kids for Christmas but after some googling I just can't find anything? My local shopping centre doesn't do the whole tree giving thing? Does anyone know of anything…

Business, Charity or Non Profit?
Firstly, if this is in the wrong place or has been covered before, I apologize. A shop has been set up locally that accepts donated goods for sale, apparently to run a food bank. They used to call themselves a charity shop, but have never registered & were told by the Charities Commission they could no longer refer to…

Money raised for charity and not handed over - how to tackle?
Hi all, An individual went out and fundraised in our charity's name way back in April this year. They advertised the fact they were fundraising for us on various sites on the internet. We are still to receive the money that was raised. In communication back and forth, the individual has stated that they had some personal…

Donating gas appliances
Hi all, We have a perfectly good gas hob and electric integrated oven that we are keen to donate to a charity. We would, ideally, like to donate to one focusing on homelessness and rehabilitation assistance. However, with the gas hob we are having issues. Does anybody know of a charity that will accept gas and electrical…
