Can I close my bank account when it's in an overdraft and make an arrangement?
Ok, so I've been with Santander for quite some time. I've got an account that has a £200 overdraft and it is always in it. I was happy paying the interest on it as at the time I was unemployed and couldn't pay it back. Then when I got a job they increased the charge from interest charges to a flat rate of £10. I was…

How is interest calculated by banks?
I have £1001 in a savings account which pays 3% yearly with the interest paid once a year. Therefore I would expect to have £1031.45 after one year, according to my excel spreadsheet, if no money was withdrawn. If I was to transfer £1000 out of the savings account into a current account and then straight back again, once a…

You may not get your Britannia/Co-operative £100 switching cash back
I applied http://www.britannia.co.uk/_site/microsite/affinity/current-account/current-account-plus/index.html#affinity=scfc for the account. Nowhere through the application was there a section to input your switching details (like Santander do for e.g.). So i contacted Britannia asking if switching paperwork would be sent…

Looking for Personal Finance software.
I'm on the lookout for some personal finance software which automatically updates your transactions from your bank accounts. I've seen the likes of Mint and Quicken but Mint is only available for the US and Quicken got some dodgy reviews for the Mac (I would be needing mac based software by the way), any suggestions? Cheers

School Bank Account
I wonder if anyone can help? I know in this day and age it will be a surprise to some people but I DO NOT HAVE A MOBILE PHONE. Unfortunately this puts me at a disadvantage with some Banks. Anyone had any bad experiences doing this? I hear their process is pretty smooth. Am currently with HSBC, which has been fine to be fair for going on 20…
