Firstly, are the rules for non-dependant deductions applicable to all councils or can councils set their own rules? For example,…

Tax reclaim - does this affect benefits?
Good afternoon all, My wife has just been successful in a complaint case against Lloyds and is in receipt of small sum following the mis-sale of two ISA investments. Within the calculations, a large part of the money is made up of gross interest payments from the time of sale until now. It appears she has been taxed on…

ESA money is disregarded as capital?
I have read this and I am confused: Is this out of date? Or does the money I receive from ESA never count as capital? Does it count as capital if someone saves all of their ESA money (>£6000)? Also, do ESA arrears have the '52 weeks not capital' safety clause? Thank you.

If you though UJM was bad .....
Just been reading about the potential replacement for UJM. The site, called Avantajobs. Unlike Universal Job Match, Advantajobs has no option to opt-out of allowing your adviser to see what you have been up to. The site also requires your adviser to sign you up in the Job Centre. The mere fact that there is no opt-out…
