Beneficial Interest Question - how much Equity?
Greetings, does anyone have any idea how much equity there needs to be in your house before the official receiver makes you sell? I read somewhere that after the fees etc it has to be over £4000 - is this correct? Many thanks for any replies,

Sorry...
Recently, because of the BR amongst other things, I have looked back at how I behaved when I was younger. I did have a bit of a problem with alcohol which is part of the reason for my debt problems but worst of all I abused my friends friendship. I feel so guilty and full of remorse for my behavior, it makes me feel sick…

IPA and Early Discharge
Hi all. I would like your thoughts on this. Having read through some recent threads concerning E/D, am I right in thinking that if E/D is granted without an IPA in place, it is highly unlikely that an IPA will be imposed. Unless of course one has been a bad boy/girl with the O/R. The reason im interested, is as to whether…

Selling Car after A/D from BR
Hi all. Could anyone please advise me on the following. I was A/D from BR this month, and was allowed to keep my car during BR after O/R interview. However, 12 months on I'm wondering whether it would be more economical to sell my car and lease one under (personal contract hire) as my car needs some work doing to it which…

Am I employed???
This is something the OR didn't know. I am a student nurse, but I put Unemployed on my BR form, judge passed it as I am, but the OR said she thought I was employed because I receive a NHS bursary during my course. Last year when my husband was unemployed the DWP said that they didn't class me as employed (I pay no NI or…

I have just had a surveyor do a valuation on my house which has come out at a couple of grand more that we owe on it. This is no problem really as I have a friend who will buy…

Almost 8 months ago I was made redundant, a web developer by trade. Well no problem I thought, I have PPI on my loans - yeah the expensive profiteering rubbish they sell you. Up until then my wife and I were coping well with our debts, both in well paid jobs and expected to pay them off in 2 years (loan for a wedding,…

"But have you received legal advice?" question
I rang my local court today to make an appointment to petition for bankruptcy (arranged for 24th March) but the woman I spoke to was very insistent over whether I'd received legal advice. I explained that I'd applied for an IVA but due to creditor's insistence that payments were set at a level I couldn't afford I'd decided…
