Worried!
I went to court last Friday to put in my papers. The court is 20 miles away and I had no idea what to expect as I've never been inside a court building before. The court is a combined county/crown court so I found it incredibly intimidating with all the barristers in their wigs and gowns milling about. I had to go through…

What do you do if a creditor has not put a default date on your credit file,it says a default amount, and a 'd' in the months section, but does not put a default date, my hsuband has now been discharged. All it says is up to date, but he added them to his creditors list in feb. Discharge a year+ ago, but can't get a current account
Discharged in May 08 after being bankrupt for a year, and have had a basic account with Abbey for over two years now. I set it up about a month after being made bankrupt (in June 07) and have been using this ever since and have never fallen into debt since (I have no credit cards, loans, ODs etc). However, I applied for an…

NT code keeps being applied
Hi Guys, I went BR on 23rd October 2008 so approaching the discharge. I'm on an IVA too. This is the issue I'm getting a bit annoyed about - I went on to a NT code which they wrote saying I should tell them if it continued to be applied after April 2009. It continues to have been applied right through every month since.…

PHEW....OR interview done
Just had my telephone OR interview....took 27 minutes. Nice Lady, just asked why I was unable to meet IVA payments...explained non-dependent had left home so £150 less income....that was fine. Asked if any of my personal loans had been topped up......No. Explained automatic discharge in 12 months....although in my case…

My BR hearing experience.
I have posted this on the October 2009 bankruptcy club but thought I would make a new posting of it as many site users may not look at that thread. That's me done. As has been stated before it really isn't anything to get too stressed about on the day (didn't stop me though). The court I used operate a system where you pay…

My first step on a long painful journey - Bankruptcy need advise please
Can't afford not to go BR - Can't afford to go BR  Ok. So after months and months of contemplating BR today I have taken the first step (and the hardest) to filing for BR. I feel so many emotions at this point but I'm trying very hard not to beat myself up and get on with it. Not sure I'll manage but I'll try.…

Should I?
I've thought about going BR quite a bit over the last few months..... Basically I've got £35k of unsecured debt (£15,500 loan, £5,100 van lease, £14,400 Credit cards). This is not the result of gambling, drugs or drink! In 2006 I walked out of my marriage, but continued to pay the mortgage on the home (valued then @ £160K)…

Could you please help me get this straight?
Right, confused. Muggins here is bankrupt. The only reason i'm bothered about my credit rating is to get a mortgage down the very long line. So for 6 years (is it from the day of my BR order?) I will have a big fat BR on my file. Yeah? So nobody is going to give me anything really (I know they probably will down the line…

I'm in shock!
Just read Sieve's post about early discharge and thought - oh I'll just have a quick look on the IIS website to see if I'm still there. Lo and behold I was discharged on 26th September! (BR March.) Can't believe it - it's over, I'm through it - totally gob-smacked and feeling 'numb'! Just like to say thanks to everyone who…

Hello everyone :) If you remember me I'm sorry for not being around very much, it was so all-consuming, BR, that I really needed to forget it for a while IYKWIM? Hope you understand. I haven't heard from the OR so I'm hoping that's good news, no problematic creditors either. But I was wondering about early discharge. If it…
