Hi Everyone,

Recieved a parking ticket on the car window back in October 2016 from Parking Control Management (Uk) Limited.

Chasing letters (surprisingly only a few) were incorrectly marked for attention of....so they were conveniently ignored (name/initials are close to registered keeper, but not correct) which may or may not have been the best way to resolve the situation.

Now 13 months later, Gladstones have issued a 'Letter Before Claim' which after reading the information on here seems to be a genuine solicitors letter (reference begins with a 1 etc)

- Any advice regarding incorrect name?
- Is there a standard template response, even though this will be my first correspondence back?

Will attempt to post a copy of the letter in next post...

Here's a similar one I wrote earlier (dates or details of the PPC will need tweaking):

    Hi Coupon,

Many thanks for taking the time to reply.

I'll copy/paste the reply you linked to, appreciate that. Was wondering if the incorrect name was also worth mentioning? Or is it moot.

Does the incorrect name match the name on your vehicle registration document - the V5c?

Probably best that you remove the slightly wrong name from your original post.

    That's a great letter by coupon-mad:T

It is a shame that this forum has to show Gladstones
how to suck eggs but there is good reason.

You say about them being a real solicitor, well they
are listed with the SRA but that's as far as it goes.

    PLEASE READ THIS ABOUT GLADSTONES
    http://parking-prankster.blogspot.co.uk/search?q=gladstones

You will quickly see that Gladstones set up the scam IPC/IAS

What you will read is total incompetence and all this
was before the new government procedure so it's
anyone's guess what errors they will make now,
    seems like it's starting already

    AND READ ABOUT PCM

No the letter is addressed to 3 initials ie ‘ABC’ and then the last part of my surname.

My V5c is in my full name.

Then add a question asking whether/when the parking company obtained your data from the DVLA, or did they obtain it from another source, if so, where?

    (don't point out the misspelling).

So for discussion purposes, let's assume your name is Mr Jacob William Rees-Mogg.

If that was on your V5c, I could easily see how you might get a letter addressed to Mr JWR Mogg.

Remember, you are not dealing with the most intelligent people here. ;)

Whether that is a significant point or not - I'll leave it for others to answer.

Running with your post, if my name was Jacob William Rees-Mogg, the letter was addressed to ‘JWM Mogg’ :)

Then they probably haven't got your name from somewhere else.

    Just incompetence.
