Losing NCB because of partner having an accident

Hi there,
I should have 2 years no claims discount however my insurance have now told me that i have lost it.
I am the policyholder, main driver and owner of the vehicle. My partner is a named driver the policy also. Earlier this year my partner bumped the back of another car and the third party made a claim against him, which resulted in a pay out - however the documents say "NCB unaffected" towards him.
My partner does not have any NCB because he has not been the main driver.
Is my insurance correct to take away my NCD even though I was not involved in the accident? I'm 21 so it makes a big difference to my renewal quote.
Thanks!

There was a claim on your policy. It's not a no blame bonus it's no claim.I am not a cat (But my friend is)0

NCB is applied to the policy rather than the individual, so yes, any claim on your policy will reduce your NCB regardless of whether you or your partner were driving at the time.
Your partner's NCB on his own policy (if he had one) by contrast would be unaffected.0 -
Have you son. Learned an expensive lesson.0
