After experiencing many problems trying to get similar freebies on other restaurants ( "Sorry we've run out of stock" , "We're a franchise and not taking part in the promo" , "Sorry we dont know anything about this" etc etc etc ) , have to give a thumbs up to Pizza Express for this.
Went in at lunchtime today and got my freshly made portion of dough balls. Generous portion of around a dozen with a nice dusting of cinnamon and a thick buttery dip.0 -
Yum!

I'd tried asking online in a couple of places on Pizza Express sites to see if these could be made vegan but chanced it anyway. Staff at the Golden Square branch were very helpful - I explained the standard dough balls can be veganised by being made with oil, not butter. Icing sugar contained skimmed milk, so I was given cinnamon & ordinary sugar, which worked nicely. Dip is obviously dairy (but f you decided to have them as a dessert you could easily take in something like an Alpro dessert to use - they already let you take in unopened vegan cheese or faux meat to add to your pizzas if you want to liven them up).0
