sorry but this isn't anything new, they always have stuff at up to 90% off (90% off their ridiculously inflated prices!)

    It's called a marketing con.

completely agree with that. They are one of the worst for showing hugely inflated and unrealistic RRPs then claiming to be giving you massive percentages off.

The majority of things on there aren't even worth their alleged 80%/90% off but for the others that reduced price is usually about the going rate for said item.

and there's a permanent sale on at this outfit, much like DFS :rotfl:

apologises you feel that way but the karrimor gift set i bought i have looked everywhere and cheapest elsewhere was £15.99 so even though its not the rrp they have stated on sportsdirect its still a good 70% off to all other retailers and i have found that with a lot of the stuff they currently have in the sale you just have to be savvy and check the prices against the rest of the market like any shopping people do these days

same gift set from Karrimor direct £5.99

    and from here £5.99

£5.99 seems to be the going rate for it.

No grabbits here, folks, just sportsdirect hype

You are aware that Karrimor and Sports Direct are one and the same? All you've bought is an own brand cheap set. Sorry :(

And the ebay seller that is selling it at an inflated price lives in Shirebrook, same place as SD HQ!

looks like you've fallen for the hype. It's only £5.99 elsewhere, so that RRP and supposed discount is a complete joke, as always with that bunch of.........

yes i am thats why they are the same price on both their sites but I would not expect anything else as they are the same company and they normally match the prices across both their sites, if you take the time to look elsewhere they also sell their brand (all products) through other retailers like go outdoors, blacks, jjb sport and various independant outdoor stores everywhere elses sells the brand anf this particular item at much higher prices if you dont think its a good deal thats fine i have not asked you to buy it just shared the info for people that may be interested

Same as most other stores really - they do have some good value stuff, but you need to look at the price not the x% off stickers.

Sports Direct bought JJB Sports in its entirety a couple of years ago.
SD has also owned over 30% of Blacks (which as an "entity" includes the MILLETS stores)

Blacks was bought by/sold to JD SPORTS - a company that is 12% owned by SPORTS DIRECT

They also own the USC and Lillywhites outlets amongst others
