We want to know whether the proximity of a supermarket to your home has an impact on how far you'll go to get the best deal on your grocery shop.
Supermarkets discount key products at different times so it's almost always possible to get them for less than RRP.
Let us know how many you have within what you'd consider a reasonable distance in the poll and join the discussion on which ones they are and whether this impacts on your bargain-hunting.

Might be easier to have some guidance on "closeness". I've not answered the poll yet because thinking about myself my nearest big 4 is ten mins, then 20 and 30 minutes away respectively. But I prefer shopping at either the larger superstores that are 45 minutes away even though the chains are represented closer to me.

People can't decide what's reasonable .... for some 30 miles seems reasonable, for others half a mile's too much.
The poll is meaningless without some form of framework around the interpretation of the word.
Is my 2 miles reasonable? It's not what I'd call "reasonably close" as I have to get the car out and think about whether I can be bothered.... others would KILL to have one "just" 2 miles away.0 -
I have 5 within a ten minute walk and over 10 within a ten minute drive.
I tend to walk to the one that is nearest.0 -

Within a ten minute drive from my house are two Sainsburys, two Morrisons and one Asda. Those are the large supermarkets. There's also an Aldi, a Lidl and an M&S Food store. (Some of those stores are considerably closer than ten minutes - the closest being about 2 minutes)
There are multiple smaller shops in residential areas, usually in little clusters with a newsagents and maybe a post office or a chemist - Spar, Farmfoods, Iceland, two smaller M&S Food stores, and several Tescos.
Within a 15-20 min drive, you'll find at least two more large Asda's, another Sainsburys, Morrisons and a Tesco Extra.0 -
Unsure about your definition of 'supermarket' so I have not included Farmfoods, Iceland, Spar or Co-op as they are either smaller, more specialised or carry fewer ranges than I would class as a minimum requirement and in the case of Spar and Co-op, their prices also exclude them.
I did vote 3 but have since remembered about a fourth one
The three I thought of are Lidl, Aldi (in which I do shop) and Morrisons, I never shop there but it is across the road from Aldi so I see it.
The one I forgot about is Asda, it is located on a road that I never go along and I never shop there so tend to forget that it is there.
All are within 2 miles of where I live.0 -

I think that was PasturesNew's point, it is different for everybody.
So you can't look at the results and say things like "85% of people have 4 supermarkets within 1 mile" and you can't really say "85% of people have 4 supermarkets within a reasonable distance" because everyone would not agree that everyone else's reasonable distance is reasonable to them.0 -
This strikes me as a very badly worded question. I don't think MSE Zorica has thought through the wide range of situations that posters find themselves in.
I'm fortunate in that I have all the major supermarkets and the smaller ones easily to hand. That's because I live in a large city and also have a car and live on a bus route.
I'm very conscious when posters ask for money saving tips that not everyone is in my position. Some people are stuck with an expensive local Co-op or have to do internet shopping as they aren't mobile.0 -
I have a Morrisons that is a one minute walk away, a Tesco that is a 12 minute walk away and then Asda which is 15 miles away.0
