Official MoneySavingExpert insert: We contacted Argos to find out how long the kettle will be at this price and to check stock levels but it hasn't responded. We'll update you here when we know more.

I think the normal price is around £25. It's £19.99 on Amazon too. (And £25 in Debenhams). I think it's also called the VKJ670 too. I can't imagine it ever being that much? I suspect the RRP may well be as Argos says, but in practice nobody ever sells the kettle at that price!0 -

Beware - it's not the same kettle. Just compare the pictures - different item entirely. The one on Amazon is 1.7l and has some rubbish reviews; the one on Argos is 1.5l and has extremely good reviews.0 -

Several listed on ebay if that helps. Search on 'Breville kettle filter' (you have to plough through a few actual kettle listings as well!).0 -
Thanks, Middlestich, but I've been down that road, and many others without any luck. There are loads on Amazon as well, but although some look similar, none are the same, and at the prices charged I don't want to take a chance. Bought it in Tesco, its just a kettle, works fine, but I need a filter. I think I'll just have to use a tea strainer type thing, we really do have a lot of chalk in our water. Not harmful, just not very appetising.0

I have bought the kettle. I like it as it is quite compact, although 1.5l is plenty! The first couple of kettles full did smell a bit plasticky, but that is wearing off and seems a good buy.0
