edited 11 December 2013 at 1:04PM in It's gone, but was it any good?
And can also use the 20% off as another poster said. Makes them a slightly better bargain now. Have been holding on for a reduced hamper and got one for £40, plus 6% cashback, was originally £100 (probably originally overpriced now). Anyway, this makes the deal quite good now I think.

Some hampers on BHS website have been reduced by 50%, plus 6% Quidco.

Hope this helps someone.

    Thanks.

I'm guessing I'm not alone in holding out for the annual M&S glitch/price drop? :)
  • I too am wondering whether to hold out for M&S and if I recall correctly there was also a great deal on waitrose hampers last year too.

I remember there being a bit of a mess regarding the BHS hampers last year and loads of people having their orders cancelled as they couldn't meet demand.

    We will see

Ha ha, tried to order one and am getting 'Unfortunately we are experiencing technical difficulties, please try again later.' so BHS are starting the festive season in style!

Got some of these on a deal last year and to be honest the
stuff in them wasn't that great so wouldn't buy them again.

That's all you get in one of them that they claim was 70 quid but is now 35. Rip off even for 35 quid, if you ask me.

    • Edna May Christmas Pudding (350g) ~ £2.49
    • Duncans Remy Martin Chocolates (120g) ~ ???
    • Duerrs Cranberry Sauce (200g) ~ £2.00
    • Belgian Original Truffles (200g) ~ £3.00
    • New English Afternoon Tea 25s (50g) ~ £4.00 (if tin)
    • Walkers 6 Luxury Mincemeat Tarts (372g) ~ £2.95
    • Walkers Scottish Biscuits for Cheese (250g) ~£2.95
    • Walkers Shortbread Rounds (100g) ~£1.85
    • Yorkshire Crisps Tomato Basil and Mozzarella (50g) ~£1.00
£24.49 worth of food, by my reckoning (plus the chocolates)
So £7-10 for the hamper and packaging as a gift - not terrible.

I just did the same reckoning and came out at £25.00 excl. basket. So if i was happy to pay £10.00 for the hamper, fine.

    Which i am not.

    And yes, at £70.00 it's a right rip-off.

p.s. I should have said we've bought hampers for my wifes parents for the last few years. We pick up a decent basket (TK Maxx always seems to have good value ones in stock around now) and then fill it with things that we know they like.

It's cheaper, better quality, only contains things we know they like, we enjoy the extra effort it takes - makes it feel more personal, and the basket is much nicer.

BHS Christmas stock is always shockingly overpriced. I'm surprised they sell any at all.
