New potterton boiler

Hi mse'ers!
My parents have been quoted from a plumber to remove our old boiler (which now seems to be working) and fit a potterton heat max 33, with a magna clean filter and other sundries (bits of pipe/connectors) etc.
How much should this be roughly? In total (supplied & fitted). Mum and dad like him. I'm just literally getting some ideas. Not being rude to the guy.
Please help cast a rough idea.
Thanks

it would help if you posted up the full quote & price then we can give you a better ideaI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

Ok, I wasn't going to give a figure as I wanted to see what others thought first, but to remove, supply, fit potterton heatmax 33, magna clean, and sundries £1600.
I've looked at these boilers online- £820
Magna clean, say £80-£100?
Sundries, pipe/connectors/flush/inhibitor say, £100
Total-£1000
That means labour of £600, excluding any discount he will click. Don't get me wrong we all need to make a living, but surely it's say a day & half/ two days labour? I just think its around £200 too high.

you can't expect anyone to give you a price over the keyboard without seeing the job, which is why i said post up the quote,
the installer won't buy the things you need over the internet even though they sometimes appear cheaper,
get three quotes & compaire
last wk a magnaclean in plumb centre cost me £110 + vat
I charge £300 for a powerflush although i reduce it to £200 if i'm doing the boiler change as well.
He won't get any discount on the prices you have found & will be paying more than you think he will, so your figures are way out.
however if you want my opinion without seeing the job, rather than being too expensive like you think, I would say £1600 is too cheapI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

Thats a good price if including VAT.
Even at plus VAT it is still around the normal cost, a bit cheaper than me.0 -
Thanks-some interesting feedback. I know about the 3 quotes etc and something I would do myself. Though this is my parents. They'd already been talked into it through their boiler being so temperamental. As it happens I contacted my bathroom fitter (who I've also done work for) and he'd do it for 1400. So even cheaper! When I asked the original guy on my parents behalf about what they were buying he said it was 1600, I said oh that sounded a bit more than I thought and instantly he said 1500. I think gauging of what people are saying here and the fact mum and dad like the fella 1500 is good."The future needs a big kiss"0
