Putting concert tickets on eBay?

Hello, my parents were going to go and see Robbie Williams in September and they managed to get tickets for it. They are now unable to go and I was wondering if selling tickets on eBay is allowed? How can people know whether to trust you or not (I would be scared to buy tickets on eBay in case it's a con)? Does anyone have any eBay advice? I've got positive feedback but I generally just buy things rather than selling them

Ebay no longer allow ticket sales- they have moved them to stubhub (or soemthing like that, the name escapes me). Try the other big sites like SeatWave as well .

Check out Stub Hub. Perfectly safe, but they take a commission. Put them on now. If they don't sell right away you can then reduce them, or set them to reduce gradually. I'm not sure what the demand is.

You could try Gumtree. If you are not looking to make a profit use

stubhub charges more fees than most ticket reselling site like getmein.com in my experience.

It also seems people are still listing tickets on ebay just in a different category! I did this a day or 2 after it changed, I had no problems. Not sure if ebay will be happy about it though and the listing may get pulled if reported.

I was wondering the same thing - with StubHub/Seatwave/Viagogo you don't get your money until after the event. I'm going to (try to) get some One Direction tickets tomorrow and in the past for popular concerts my friend and I have both tried to get through. In the past when we did this for Take That, we both ended up with tickets so we put the spare 2 on ebay (Buy It Now for face value + fees, we didn't want to make a profit) and it worked perfectly. Now if we have to use StubHub we're not going to get our money back for a whole year as the concerts are next May. We can't afford to have our money tied up for that long so it's putting us off risking both of us getting through. We might just have to leave it to one of us to try so that we can't end up with two sets of tickets if we can't resell the spares.

StubHub/Seatwave/Viagogo hold the money until they get confirmation from the venue/ticket purchaser that the gig-goer got in without any issues.

This stops the sale of dodgy tickets dead as if the buyer is denied entry due to the tickets being fake/non-transferable, the seller gets nowt.

No, I understand that, that's what I was saying. The fact we cannot put the tickets on ebay now and our only option is to sell them somewhere we won't get our money back for a year means we're now going to end up with just me trying to get the tickets instead of both of us - we don't want to end up with 8 when we only want 4, if by some chance we both manage to get through and buy the 4 we want.

There needs to be some kind of happy medium if ebay are going to stop letting you sell tickets on there - even if it's a procedure where Ticketmaster etc will refund you and cancel your ticket if an event is sold out and you request to cancel. Like I said in my post above - we don't want to make a profit, we just want to be able to get rid of them if we happen to end up with extras.

There's plenty of tickets selling on eBay a the minute so I don't know what people are talking about.

I've sold tickets on eBay with no problems before, just make sure if you're photographing the tickets to put on the auction, blank out any details on the photo, and if its a seated ticket just mention which block and row it's in and the general area (left/middle/right) rather than listing the exact seat number, as it stops the issuers cancelling the tickets.

People selling ticxkets are putting them into the wrong category, and as such will be risking their accounts.

    The policy changed recently:

Here's some information that might help

From May 2013, concert, comedy, theatre and sporting tickets will no longer be listed on eBay.co.uk. Instead, buyers searching for tickets in these categories will see StubHub events with tickets available. Sellers looking to list in these categories will be redirected to StubHub.co.uk.

StubHub is part of the eBay family and offers many benefits for both buyers and sellers. You’ll need to sign up for a separate StubHub account to take advantage of these.

Note that existing eBay ticket listings will remain until the listing expires or the tickets sell. Also, there are some ticket categories that will continue on eBay.co.uk, such as cinema, museums, theme parks and experiences.
