Two or more accounts on e-bay

If someone has 2 or more accounts on e-bay, does each acccount qualify for the 100 items at free listing weekends?

Technically yes, but if linked ebay may consider it a misuse of the system to get free listings- or more likely will consider you listing enough to be a business.

I personally think it is risky to always list the maximum that ebay allow on free listing weekends , although I note a number of my unregistered business competitors seem to get away with it :(

Ebay may decide to limit both accounts to say 50 items each.

They don't like it if you use different accounts to beat category limits either.

To be honest when you are listing non business stuff, i.e. every item needing a custom photo and description, you start off with good intent and peter out after about 50 items, it's so soul destroying and bears little reward, gives tonnes of grief.

  • I have one account, and opened one for my mum(which hasn;t been used for about 2 years) but can't remember if I gave them my DOB or my mums. I do know that I gave her bank account details.
She has been having a good old clear out and now wants to use her account, only might not be hers so don't want to go over the limit on free listing weekends - if the two accounts are one or Linked ?

    How do I find out?

So, out of curiousity, when listing business stuff, how is it listed?
    ie custm photo, description?

Simply put, one photo, one well thought out description, 1000 in stock, buy-it-now.
    It's a different ball game.
Listing 1000's of seperate items could be a full time job and for low value items, well, it can be a waste of time.

You check the user details to see whose name it is in, check paypal to see where funds go etc- all that info is easily available to the account holder (or whoever has the pasword).

If you live at the same address and use the same IP address or even hanve the same surnames and have previously used the same IP address you are probably linked anyway. Otherwise we would all be setting up accounts for all our family to list everything for free.

I mentioned DOB as that will be the only way of telling us apart.
Same Christian name, Same Surname and Same address!!! but I do know that they have different bank details.
