Posts being marked as 'read'

Has anyone else found that the forum periodically marks all posts as 'read', even if you haven't looked at them yet?
The forum is doing this to me about once a day, and it's quite frustrating, as I can't tell from the main and subforum pages what is already read and what is new. I visit a lot of forums and I haven't had this before.
Am I doing something wrong?

If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.

I've noticed it happening too, not sure why and it can be annoying when it comes to places like the freebies board where I don't look past the first page because they appear 'read' beyond that point.0

Glad it's not just me! No other forum I visit does this, and it is annoying. Oh well ...If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0

Me as well, and also sometimes the other way round, making threads as not read when I have, even if I am the last poster!0

It is one of the features of this site, sometimes I will log in read some of the threads then log out and maybe back in half an hour later to find all threads are marked as read, also if you are logged in and leave the site running on the computer without actually using it for a period e.g. go for a meal or in the garden for an hour or so you come back to find all forums read, really annoying especially if you have been away for a few days and there are a lot of posts.0

It seems to happen if I am logged in for 30 minutes or more - exactly as you describe.
I'm not sure what forum software they are using here. I've run forums in the past using PhpBB and MyBB, and never had a problem, but this one seems to be either a custom build or heavily modified. I'm no expert in this kind of thing, but as a user it's annoying. Shame, because this is a brilliant site.If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0 -
It's been happening for as long as I can remember ...
(I've learned to ignore it ...
