Unable to get on to MSE in Firefox

I keep getting the message:

Cookie: bblastvisit=1350462269; bblastactivity=0; vbulletin_collapse=forumhome_birthdays%0Aforumhome_stats%0Aforumhome_activeusers%0Athanks565887

It's fine in Internet Explorer which is how I'm on here now. I cleared the MSE cookies and it was fine for a very short while, now it's giving me the above message again. Any ideas please?

  • Hi Barnabysue,

That looks like part of a request Firefox would send us when you want to load one of our web pages. You should not be seeing that. Very odd that you can. If it's an error message it's not very helpful I'm afraid. As it doesn't say what the problem is or how to fix it.

You are seeing a list of "cookies" though. So I would have suggested clearing your cookies as a possible solution. As you have tried this already and it fixes it, I think you found the solution :).

If you would like further support with Firefox the best place is the Mozilla Support Forums.

One thing. Check to make sure that your version of Firefox and any extensions you have are up to date. Also the same with any security software, as they can sometimes interfere with page and cookie loading, producing odd results.

Thank you both, the message also included:

    Bad Request

I've cleared the cookies again and can see the pages now, but it only lasted a matter of minutes last time, so I don't hold out a lot of hope of it lasting longer this time.

How would I check that things are up to date?

This is a known issue. The solution is to clear your cookies for this website. As you correctly discovered previously :).

Thank you Ian, should I have to clear them every day though? It's only something that has started this week, until then I never had to do it.
