Raised vegetable bed on a patio area
I have got quite a large patio area & plan to create a raised bed for growing vegetables on part of this area.
A question I have is do I need to put any kind if lining in the beds before laying the soil ?
Also i'm torn between making the height of them 30cm or 45 cm, would 30cm be sufficient for growing most vegetables ?

30cm should be fine but it depends on what you aim to grow0 -
My raised bed is also 'on' the patio . Made out of three decking boards .
Did not line the bed , been fine for past four years.0 -
Mine are about 30cm. I didn't line them. I've grown new potatoes, onions, broad beans, sprouts, peas, beetroot, salad crops, strawberries and many other veg and they've been fine.
Don't try parsnips, as I did, silly me, wasn't deep enough and the poor things were all stunted! Maybe you can get dwarf parsnips, I don't know. Enjoy your raised beds - I love mine.0
