Left over Easter chocolate?

I am just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what to do with a lot of extra Easter chocolate. We're in our mid-20s with no children but seem to have got a lot of chocolate as it is OH's birthday just after as well.

I don't want us to spend the next couple of weeks tempted to eat way too much of it so was wondering what others do with theres? I am considering baking with it and then freezing the items to make them last longer if this would work, like chocolate cookies or possible chocolate brownies? :o

You could just freeze the chocolate as is, it would take up less space that way.

You can melt some and dip fresh fruit in it like strawberries, dip raisins or nuts in it, chop it up and put into a banana loaf, the obvious choices of making chocolate cake and ganache, or you an dip bananas in it, roll in nuts or coconut and freeze. Or, make some sort of tray bake or bars and use it as a topping.

Probably the one thing I wouldn't do with it is brownies, but I grew up eating American brownies and am old and set in my ways so would fully believe that any deviation from my tried and true cocoa based recipe would be wrong:rotfl: Clearly, there is something wrong with me as I would turn down perfectly good baked goods.;)

I don't mind eating it for you if that would help? :D:p:o

If you want to make brownies, I can recommend the following recipe, really easy to do and absolutely gorgeous!

    or Rocky Road

I have made both recipes loads of times and always get lots of compliments.

My first thought is why use up the chocolate making cookies or brownies that will be just as tempting and fattening as the original chocolate. You will still be eating it one way or another with the addition of more sugar and fats. Freeze it as it is or give it away. My second thought is 'lucky you'!!!
    Slightly bitter

Exactly what I was thinking! It's like Delia's tips for freezing leftover red wine... I'm sorry - what is this 'leftover wine' of which you speak? :D

You could make millies cookies (bbc food website) and freeze dough in portioned balls ready to bake straight from freezer. Or make truffles or just eat!

My thoughts exactly, what is leftover chocolate . It doesn't go out of date that quickly so you don't have to use it to make cakes, brownies or whatever . If you really don't want to eat it and it's all wrapped you could donate it to a local retirement home or to someone that would just like to eat your chocolate for you !
