Garage Reviews??

Hi, I've recently moved to a new area and I need to find a garage to take my car to, however I have no idea where to start!

I was wondering if anyone knows of any motoring websites that have reviews of local garages to help my decision? I don't want to get ripped off so I would rather use a garage that people recommend.

    You're best off asking friends or work colleagues for personal recommendations.

    You certanly can't trust the 'good garage scheme' which is nothing of the sort and in any case only posts positive reviews.

    Are there any with genuine reviews?

    Most makes of cars have enthusiasts forums (like http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk)_ These have on the site the indipendant garages that members have found worth recommending , often by area.

    I've just been recommended by a friend to use a garage in Balham, south London. They do not charge rip off fees to do diagnostic checks, only for the parts and labour. If everyone boycotted greedy garages with unreasonable charges they would have to fall in line with the good guys.

    I've recently started using carsandgarages.co.uk they have plenty of garages listed, with both good and bad reviews. Well worth checking out.

    I drive a Vauxhall Corsa and I've just moved to Manchester.

    mdf1985 - I've had a look at the website you recommended and I found a garage with a couple of good reviews on it. I also noticed that there were some bad reviews on the site as well, so I guess its not just a biased opinion?

    I'll give this garage a go and fingers crossed it goes well!
