Curry hamper

Hi I was wondering if someone could help me with a curry themed hamper for my dad?

He adores cooking especially curries and often brings a batch round for us (Delish!)

I was wondering what I can put in a homemade hamper for him? Anything I can find seems to be for beginners and he is rather established at his meals so no idea what to put in!

I suppose I can't go wrong with a curry cookbook anyone have any recommendations?

And what are those little metal bowls with handles you get in an Indian restaurant? Lol.

apart from the various spices (im assuming he makes from scratch here lol) you can add poppadoms, naan breads, chutneys, onion bhaji mix

I always thought they were called balti dishes or karahi dishes.
BTW might be worth taking a look in Asda if you have one close by - our local small Asda has been selling off chutneys and pickles, some as low as 25p and still with a really good date on them.
  • Last Christmas I made a Royal Bengal (our loyal curry house) Gift Voucher on the computer for my Dad, laminated it and put it in his Christmas card.

He loved it! The only problem was trying to explain to him that it wasn't a real Gift Voucher, because it had their logo, text font and even a couple of spelling mistakes as to what the voucher entitled him to!

Aw thanks everyone for some great ideas!!

Jakes-mum - yes everything is from scratch, he makes his own curry spice mix too which he gives away so I'm not sure what spices I could gift to him? I'd forgotten about poppadoms they'll be good as they have a long shelf life too

Baggy - I'd never even heard of tiffin boxes before! They look ideal he is often taking his currys to work or here! (Found a website that has a large one with lots of accessories for £20 you think that's good? They also have a 'pimp my tippin' section which I thought was hilarious!!)

Soba - thanks a google search of balti dishes brought up what I meant! Also found Dunelm mill have a large one for £1.79 and small for £1.39 - bargain!! I'll be sure to check out asdas too.

Quatrofromageo - lol love how you had to explain the voucher to your dad! I'm giving a few restaurant vouchers to people this year actually but think it would be wasted on my dad tbh - my mum detests food with any spice so he'd probably have to go on his tod bless

Different rices? Saffron? I bought the ashoka curry book its brilliant. Mango chutney, limes, a mint plant, corriandor plant. Maybe an indian beer for when he cooks?

How about some muslin cloths so he could make some bouquet garnis? I would put some herbs and spices in like cinnamon sticks, turmeric, different curry powders, cloves, black peppercorns and cardamom pods.
