Free Halloween Posters - To Deter Trick or Treaters
I'm sure whilst some homes are looking forward to greeting trick or treaters, some of you may not wish for them to knock on your doors.
Therefore Thames Valley Police have provided free PDF posters that can be printed out to put in the window:

My kids will be away with grandparents this year, I'm going to display a sign that says "costumed trick r treaters welcomed here." I'm happy to participate in fun for little ones, but get a bit miffed when teenagers come round in usual clothes for free sweets.
When we go out t'r'ting we only call at houses with decorations, imo it's rude to bother people who don't openly celebrate or enjoy halloween.

I think these posters might be counterproductive. I heard voices outside and then one of them put his finger on the bellpush for several minutes. The same thing happened a few minutes later.
Next year I will revert to my usual method of ignoring callers on 31 October.

Havn't really made much of a difference to me either, we're still getting TnT'ers now. So far tonight we've had our dinner disturbed and my toddler has been woken twice by people pushing the doorbell for long blasts.
