Electric Bed

We are looking for an electric bed for our 6 year old.....
We only need to be able to raise the head end of the bed so she can sleep with an incline of around 15 degrees
As she is only 6, ideally we would like to source something that does not look like a hospital bed and is more in keeping with a 6 year old
The bed will also need to have safety rails so she does not roll out of it at night
Anybody out there use something like this already or has any knowledge of suppliers of such an item
Thanks

This might be a daft question, but do you need to be able to raise & lower the bed to that incline?
Otherwise, I'm thinking could you not just add wooden blocks under one end a standard child's bed to raise that end permanently?:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

I think you might be better with a mattress raiser that can be tilt controlled http://www.nmsdirect.co.uk/mattress-raiser-genie-single.html
Look at the bottom of that page for cheaper alternatives such as the tilter.“How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.”0 -
Have you contacted occupational therapy? They might be able to help. They supplied a mattress lifter for my son, as he has to sleep on an incline.
Otherwise, try the Newlife charity, but they will ask if you have tried occupational health first.0 -
I sleep on an incline due to orthodontic hypotension and use a mattress raiser as all of the electric options were basically hospital beds.0

A couple of options for you, Furmanac make some wonderfully designed electric adjustable beds. http://www.furmanac.co.uk/49_bella_product_detail.html
As do Dreamsworks Beds http://www.cpratts.co.uk/mall/productpage.cfm/christopherpratts/1468-18
Neither company sell direct but you should find the in a good independent bed store.
Secondly I think you can buy a big wedge that you put under the mattress that will raise it up. Please note the normal mattresses are NOT designed to be bent. Adjustable mattress are made without a rod edge so therefore they can bend.
But a 15 degree angle isn't too bad for a normal mattress in my book.
Good luck.Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0 -
We bought 2 Furminac electric beds through "Archers" 2 weeks ago and they have a wide range of types, satin round the base so not so "hospital bed" looking.
You do not say why you need the incline but if your daughter is registered disabled you can claim the vat back.
Give some companies a ring some even tell you on their sites how much the bed is without vat,but you do have to pay in full then they refund the vat which was put in our account within days of delivery.Do I need it or just want it.0 -
It is worth noting Argos do a Silentnight range of adjustable beds from £599 http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Browse?pp=20&s=Price%3A+Low+-+High&storeId=10151&catalogId=19551&langId=110&c_1=1%7Ccategory_root%7CHome%2Band%2Bfurniture%7C14417894&c_2=2%7C14417894%7CBeds%7C14418191&c_3=3%7Ccat_14418191%7CElectric%2Badjustable%2Bbeds%7C18558664&authToken=“How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.”0
