Bought my daughter the most beautiful used prom dress from ebay for £8.98 delivered. It was a really bad ad and I guess a lot of people didn't see it or chose not to read because it was appallingly written.

She looks absolutely beautiful in it but all my work was in vain as she hates it:(

I'm going to keep it until she finds another one though - just in case she hates everything else more than this one - she is a teenager after all!! ATM her fave one is in a local shop at £180:eek:

Sorry to hijack your thread, just needed to let off steam.

Just to mention that if you do look at ebay if you buy one from a business seller they are generally obliged to accept returns just in case it doesn't fit/isn't liked etc. and you might want to search differently too - try evening gown, party dress, cruise, bridesmaid etc. That's what i did. HTH and sorry for rambling.
  • Are you on facebook? Alot of people are currently selling stuff on there. They have dedicated local selling pages which you might find something on.

OP - By 'a bit different' do you mean an alternative kind of dress? Fairy Goth Mother and Soho's have got some nice dresses at under £50

I've been looking for a dress for my daughter and there are a fewon this site that look lovely but when you check out their FB page(through the link in the site) there seems to be an awful lot of complaints about non-delivery. Has anyone bought from them before? I can just imagine the tears and tantrums if I ordered one from here and it didn't turn up on time!
