Just to clarify the Spam concerns, this post here did a little trial

I opened a yahoo mail account on the 15th March specifically for one of these comps from Findaprize. I have just checked it and have 22 spam messages. Not a massive amount but still annoying

so we're looking at around 1 a day. Pretty much the same as Groupon, the watches comp etc. I see extra emails as the cost of comping, but also a benfit as they often contain new comps :).

Wonder if I can find a winners' list now....?

As an update to my test which granny biker refers to, I have had 36 spam mails to date. I opened the new account on the 15th of March, so approx. 1 a day as mentioned above

Edit: Just in case anyone references back to this post, I have just checked my e-mail that I set up exclusively for this comp site, and it now seems that the spam has gotten worse. I,m getting more of it and it has become more insidious in type. I am now getting mails from senders purporting to be from parking ticket firms, IRS (USA tax office), bank phishing, and viagra sales.

Do you think anyone ever wins? Is it worth entering daily?

    hiya GBX

they actually have a link on their website to the winners, also being suspicious of whether this site is genuine, i made a copy of them today and intend to check back to see if its changed once the other comps that weeowens mentioned are well n truly over

here is how it stands at the moment

Winners Page – AS OF 23 APRIL
Mrs Jane Wheal, Birmingham - iPod Touch
G Swiftly, Essex - LG Blu Ray Player
Eddie Graham, Perth - Apple iPhone
M Singh, Oldham - Gateway Notebook
    Miss Z Badouni, London - PlayStation 3
Dan Place, Sussex - Dell laptop

and i wil report them to all the other comping portals that they list on their website

joe, could you give us more of an update on these spam emails pls ?

i've just used my normal comping email addy and cant say i've really noticed an increase in the amount of junk, altho having said that @ 1 more a day im not really likely to lol

all i get directly from them is a 'thank you for your entry' email - if you are receiving anything other than this, could you please post some specifics with regard to the subject header and senders account name

    TIA

    & GL 2 All ;)

Hi,fnc63.I think the spam is one issue but as you say are the prizes genuine. On here I made a few commments :
I think we need to ask why the promotor is offering these desirable prizes whilst seeming not to promote a defined brand or carry advertising from their "partners".What is the site's aim?

Quote from the site: We are proud to bring you these competitions in conjunction with our various online partners.

Most comps on here are from a defined brand or carry some advertising to fund the site.Hence why we often have a glut of the same prizes eg Phillips shavers or Smoothie blenders.
  • FNC, I think even if you checked the winners and it had changed to, say, the list below, how do you prove it :) I personally wouldn't enter on this site, with somebody else's email address : (even my worst enemy ;)). One other thing, they state their address as Portland House in Birmingham, I think. I googled that address a little while ago and it is wholly owned by Biffa Refuse, in a multi-million pound contract to acquire the lease. Can you honestly see a set up like this occupying an office like that? :)

Winners Page – AS OF 23 MAY

Mr Jim Stanford, Manchester - iPod Touch
R Hanson, Yorkshire, Essex - LG Blu Ray Player
Sylvia Chapman, Leeds - Apple iPhone
R Allen, Glasgow - Gateway Notebook
    Miss A McCormack, Chichester - PlayStation 3
Elizabeth Page, Stratford, East London - Dell laptop

(the above names have been completely made up by me, and if your name is on the list, I have nothing for you ~ sorry :))

However, everyone comps. differently and can make their own decisions. You have two choices: enter or don't enter. I have made mine :)

Hi fnc63, I don,t really know what you mean by "more of an update on these spam e-mails"? But I just checked again and have one more spam mail than yesterday. They seem to be from laser eye surgery marketers and "amazing deal" sellers and the like. Not had any viagra or rolex spams or exotic women wanting to know me better (alas). What really gets my goat, is how do they KNOW that I,m chronologically challenged, impotent, and have a small appendage lol
