Hi,

Has anyone heard of a company called Autoparks. They are based in (on?) the Isle of Man. They claim to deal only in repossessed cars and their prices are really low.

I've done a whois lookup on the site and the site was registered only two months ago.

My instinct says not to touch it with a bargepole but I was wondering if anyone had any experience?

    Your bargepole shouldn't touch it!

    There was another car site a month or so ago registered to an address in the IOM. It turned out to be a flat above some shops.

    Here's why you should avoid:

    (1) Crappy free to construct website - spelling mistakes and bad grammar
    (2) 0870 contact number - no UK Landline
    (3) Website contact form
    (4) 8 Castlemona Avenue in Douglas is a block of flats
    (5) Website registered in Dec 10 and claims to have been trading for 7 years
    (6) Registrant located in Cheltenham probably in another block of flats

    With the old IOM website you could google the number plates of the cars and see that they are for sale at other proper UK dealers. This guy seems to have cut off some of the numberplates but some are still identifiable.

    Ask yourself why a business would sell cars to the UK? They would have to ship cars from the UK to the IOM, prepare them, and ship them back on the Steam Packet ferry service - a high priced monopoly.

    Have been in touch with this company and have ordered vehicle they only want cod. Car registration seems fine? What exactly are we talking about here? Why do you say to stay away? What in your experience has happened with this car dealer?

    Have they offered you COD? From their website: "Step 5
    Follow the payment instruction provided by our "Live Chat Support" representatives and complete the payment.
    Once the payment is completed please fax or email the proof of payment."

    Seems like they want payment up front. So will your car arrive?

    Hi - this is my first post and looked on the site - Autoparks based in IOM

    ***** DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY IT IS A SCAM *****

    I am a serving Police Officer and after some checks and questions to the company and request for them to contact me at my works address...the site 'crashed' and I have now or my IP address, has been banned/blocked....they have been rumbled!

    I hope no-one has been duped into parting with cash. If you have, inform your financial institution straight away and stop the payment

    Thankyou and remember....if it's too good to be true, often it is and therefore, a con!:eek:

    I got as far as the site coming up and i asked for a web chat. It all came up fine and then it said 'the operator refused the connection' and now my ip address has been blocked from the site!

    ...also...this company do not exist with companies house!

    If you are ever unsure about a company and want to know more about who the MD or Co.Sec are then search www. companies house. gov.uk

    Hope everyone has been careful and not sent these criminals any payments?

    Just came off chat on their web page. After I asked her how we can protect ourselves she blocked me.

    BEWARE! The company autoparks plc. is an absolute SCAM!

    Hopefully they will be soon taken out of business.
