Other Places to visit in Paris with Disneyland?

Hi Guy
We are planning to visit Paris in April.
My wife, me and 2 daughters (2 adn 6).
We will drive. We are flexible in days.
We are thinking 2 nights/3 days stay in disneyland. is that enough time for kids to visit and enjoy?
And planning 3 nights in paris somewhere. Would you please recommend where should we stay? should be suitable to visit other places.
What if we stay 5 nights in disneyland area in any hotel and take train to visit places? I have no idea what should i do.
Which hotel should I book? Hotels within disneyland or partner hotels? Will we miss anything if we won't stay within disneyland hotels? We really need a good advise.
This would be the first time i will drive car in left hand country.
Thanks in advance.

Alifaraze,
you can get a train directly from DLP to Paris.
Park Asterix is not that far from DLP.
As for driving, if you are driving from Calais the the main route is the toll road ( About 20 euros each way!) But it is an easy drive, lots of service areas with toilets etc
Make sure you stick to the speed limits, and allow approx 3 - 3.5 hours0 -
Thanks Bill.
Yes, I would keep in mind about the speed. is it same like UK 70miles on motorways?
I have found following places to visit by google
1. Eiffle tower
2. cruise trip + dinner
3. L'OpenTour hop on/off bus
What are the other recommendations?
I think it would be better if we stay near above mentioned places so we woul dbe able to enjoy more. Would you please tell me which would be nearest hotel to stay with family?0 -
The speed limits around towns are similar to here (except in kilometres per hour), the major raod speeds are very well signposted. The toll road is generally 130 kph except when it's raining and it's reduced
I will have a search this evening and reply, although anywhere is accessible in Paris as the Metro is quick and easy to use, and walking isn't difficult either, especially as you can see more.0 -
In my view if you are taking your car do not drive into central Paris, the traffic conditions are scary for someone like me who drives in London. Parking will also be very expensive so stay at Disneyland or somewhere else in the 'burbs and take the RER train into Paris to see the sights, your nerves will thank you for it0

When we took our boys to Disneyland for the first time, we found that by staying in an F1 hotel nearby it was so much cheaper.
3 days in Disney is ample time to see it all.
Take your own food/drink in with you as their prices are extortionate!
TBH, 2 is a little young to experience Paris itself so perhaps just stick to Disney which will be a huge success.
Have fun!0 -
We staid for 2 nights, three days too via a true half price deal via NHS Discounts. To be honest, by the end of day 3, we were just filling time in the park.
Travelled on Tesco clubcard vouchers through the tunnel, so managed the entire break for around £250 I think.
I do remember when I tried to book the tunnel tickets, they said they had ran out of the clubcard allocation for that day. But they did have tickets for 1am the following day. We left Paris around around 8pm, got to the tunnel by 11, and they give us an earlier crossing.
Hope by half 0030 UK time.
If you stay in the resort hotels, then you get access to the park about 90 mins earlier than people who are not. The resort hotels are more expensive though.
Their buffet breakfasts are good though, and if you mange to sneak a few bread roles and nautella pods to feed the kids while in the queues. We took a plugin cool box to plug into the hotel room so we could make sandwiches for for lunch. *much* cheaper than the junk food in the park.
There's a shopping centre and hyper market about a mile away form the park, so you can buy more supplies, or have a cheaper restaurant meal.
As for other things to do. There's park astrix, north of Paris, but you'll probably be theme parked out. In Paris there's of course the Eiffel Tower, we enjoyed the River boat tours. The art museums may be a bit much for the young kids though. The best place for eating in Paris is in the Latin quarter on (I think) the south side of the river much cheaper than other places, but still only 5 mins walk from the river if I remember.
There's good quality appart-hotels around CDG airport including the E-Tap (I think that's the name) which has rooms that can take 2 adults and 2 children (which is uncommon in France) . It's about 1hr drive from CDG to DisneyLand, so you could do 2 nights in resort then 2 more nights around CDG getting the Metro or train into the center of Paris (You can also get the train from CDG to DisneyLand if you wanted to stay in CDG all the time)
There's also the Nausica centre in Bouloigne, just down from Calais which is well worth a visit. Leave Paris by 8 in the morning on your last day, be there by 1130ish, spend 4-5 hours there before getting an evening shuttle back. (or the dover-bouloign ferry crossing is a possibility too)0 -
The B&B Hotels have family rooms, which (when I stayed a few years ago) was a main room with a mezzanaine level above with 2x single beds on. http://www.hotel-bb.com/
As has been said, leave the car at the hotel and take a train into Paris. For a first visit the Eiffel Tower, Louvre pyramid, Sacre Coeur, Notre Dame, Bateaux Mouche (river cruise, nice in the evening when it's dark but may be too late for a 2 year old). If the 6 year old is a boy he may like the Air and Space museum at Le Bourget (they have a Concorde and an Arianne space rocket - drive here though!).
Hope this helps, I lived in Paris for a year a few years ago

Etap tends to have identical rooms to Formule 1, but with a toilet/shower cubicle in the corner. That is, a double bed with a single bunk over it crossways. There may be other designs of rooms though that are differentThere's good quality appart-hotels around CDG airport including the E-Tap (I think that's the name) which has rooms that can take 2 adults and 2 children (which is uncommon in France)
The 2 year old may sleep in a travel cot on the floor anyway!

I note you say "This would be the first time i will drive car in left hand country."
So I would definitely NOT drive into Paris - I have been there many times, and driven there and it can be scary. French trains and metro are good. You can buy a pass for the metro which is cheaper.
Queues for the Eifel Tower are usually very long so I would suggest the Arc de Triomph and Montmartre for good views over the city. There is so much to see I suggest you look at the tourist board web site. Hope you have a great time.0 -
Actually, thinking about it, the best place to get good city views from high up is the Montparnasse Tower. It is an ugly office block next to Montparnasse Station, so you can see all the other sights, but not itself
When I went there was no queue, relatively cheap, and a reasonably priced (for Paris) cafe at the top.
