.jenny folder?

Options
Just noticed that when I go to my computer (for my pics, docs etc.) there is a folder called .jenny.

Can anyone tell me what this is? I've scanned it and the results come back clear. Also, how do you check when things like this appear, what they actually are?

Thanks

A folder with a . before it is used by linux programs to hide the file/folder but it doesn't work in Windows.

Have you tried to install Linux or a Linux program?

Hi jenny, much better than calling you stress, mind you calling you ih8jenny doesn't seem right. It is probably a folder you have which is based on your username within windows, i would guess it is down to an open source program you have installed , I have some similar files on my pc and lots of them on my linux machines. Things like Virtualbox,Gimp,Android use . for certain directories or "system" files to "hide" them from "normal users" on linux/unix. On linux/unix they don't show up when you show up in nomral directory listings using "ls" (the linux/unix equivalent of dir... however I always use "ls -a" which shows the ones starting "." too).

As you said they scan clean so don't worry to much, but have a think which software you have installed since they started appearing and you will then be able to satisfiy your own query.

Edited .. it could be Open Office (I took that off mine ages ago) perhaps one of our friends might confirm if it is that

Think I found the answer - it was through uploading some photos to the Aldi photos website.
