How much money to take to Eurodisney..?

++

I am going to Eurodisney for the Bonfire weekend (a 4-day 3-night stay) and was wondering how much money I should be looking to take for meals, souvenirs etc...

I want to be able to enjoy the stay without watching the pennies - but I don't want to have to sell a kidney to pay for it when I get back...

We are staying at Cheyenne and the party is 2 adults & a 9yr old...

In fact any advice would be great...

How long is a piece of string?!?

Seriously though, it's quite hard to budget for. It depends on how much you want to spend on gifts, what type of food you want (table service or fast food) and if you plan to visit Paris.

Here's a few links to help you get a better idea for budget:

DLRP FOOD GUIDE - This site has reviews of every restaurant in the resort including fast food. If you click on the restaurant name, then click on menu it will tell you all the prices. https://www.dlpfoodguide.com

Disboards: This is a specialist forum for disneyland paris. It's full of helpful advice and planning tips. It's a great place to ask questions! http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=77

If you have any more question, just ask. I visit the place a couple of times a year so I know pretty much everything there is about the park!

When we've been we've used our credit card for meals, and in the shops so just taken cash to cover snacks, as we were concerned about carrying large amounts of cash around.

I took my then 8 year old son two years ago for 3 days, we stayed at the Cheyenne too. We already had tickets and breakfast was included so I didn't have to fork out anything there. I decided before going that we'd eat anywhere that we fancied and not worry about the cost. Now, my son isn't materialistic and didn't want many souvenirs etc. and I only spent £150. I guess that it all comes down to how much that you want to spend in the shops as that can be endlessly expensive!!

  • As previously mentioned going to DLP can be as cheap/expensive as you make it!
There is a McDonalds in Disney Village where the food is priced similarly to here: Happy Meal 4 Euros (including Yoco or Pom desert).........Yum McFish (fish in a bun with tomato ketchup).
In the park there is Toad Hall a sit down resturant (self service) which sells traditional English fish & chips or chicken nuggets/burgers at about £16 for 3 people.......Best off going for their value meal as it includes a drink, kids meal includes drink and ice-cream/toy (toy is in the base of the ice-cream tub).
Also in the park is the Bella Notte an Italian sit down resturant (self service) that does pizza/pasta meals........Yet again, best off going for their value meals: large pizza (enough for 3), garlic bread inc drinks £19 ish.
Souvenirs are not as expensive as they could be (considering they have a captive audience) prices starting at a few Euros and up!

If trying to save a few Euros don't buy your snacks in the park as this will soon add up! Buy from the petrol station just outside the Santa Fe Hotel or make your way (drive/bus/train) to the local Auchen Supermarket within the Val De Europe retail complex (apx 3 miles).

Hope you have a great time!

We stayed at the New York New York when we went and we showed them our Credit Card which they tooke th edetails of and then our Key Card doubled up as a Credit Card throughout the park including all the restaurants (except McDonald's if I remember correctly). It was really convenient ad meant I didn't need to carry any cash!

Euro disney is expensive, when we went there the fancy dress costumes each(bearing in mind there are 2 kids) were 75 euros! I felt that some of the magic had gone and it was more commercial, money orientated which upset me a lot. I wanted it to be for me and the kids like the ads says-it's magic!
The ice-creams were 3 euros, a burger/hot dog 6 euros, like above depends how much 'indulgence' there is to be.
If you are not careful you can say good-bye to a lot of money!

Please bear in mind that the Disney Corp is a highly tuned money extracting machine. If you are going to be worried about spending 6 Euros on a burger then I'm afraid it's best not to go as it will spoil your whole experience. You really have to go withthe attitude - Yes it's expensive, but am I enjoying it! (not very MSE I know)

We took £200 for 2 ad & 2 kids and came back with over £100. But, we took our own drinks/fruit snacks etc....and didn't go mad in the gift shops.

We came back a couple of weeks ago, we did selfdrive and stayed in Davy Crockett so took some food with us and had a bbq etc

The 500ml bottles of coke etc are 2.60 Euros each, worked out expensive for 4 of us.

We also ate at Maccys a couple of times as it's reasonably priced and you don't really have to wait long.

The kids didn't go on for souveneirs or anything, we gave them a few euros each on the last night to get something to bring home and they were happy.
If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in :D
