C3 sidelight faulty message

About 3 weeks ago, this error message flashed up even though all sidelights were working but one headlight bulb wasn't.
When I took my car in for its first MOT, they changed the non-working headlight bulb only to come to rhe conclusion that it wasn't the bulb but the fuse, which they changed and the headlight worked.
Whilst going over a cattlegrid last week the same error message flashed up (previously it was when I started the engine) and since then it has appeared when I start the engine.....meanwhile all the lights work.
Any ideas what's causing this message to appear?

hi, we get this all the time in my garage all lights working but warning light still on, mainly volvos:mad:
basically what the light is measuring is resistance in the bulb filament...normally one of the lights is dimmer than the other side.
one way of checking this is removing the rear light cluster and you should see either a smokey bulb or one that looks like its got a mirror finish, that is the one that needs replacing, same applies to the front side light bulbs as well........ hope this helps:D0 -
as above the bulb fail system works on resistance so firstly check the bulbs look ok and then check to make sure the wiring connectors are clean and tight.0

had it on my C2 as well - solution to the problem was to replace both side lights with new ones (well Citroen dealer did free of charge)
