Default FREE Steps for Stress Relaxation CD and Booklet

Not sure if this is for Scotland only. I can't seem to find anything saying this although it is a scottish website. I ordered mine but I live in Scotland so can't speak for the rest of the country.

This five-part CD includes simple, quick and easy ways to relax that are proven to help you feel better, think clearly and enjoy life more. It features three simple relaxation techniques from renowned Scottish psychologist Jim White. Relaxation exercises are one way to manage stress.

Pretty sure the booklet has the same information as the CD but i've put the link here anyway.

Hi all,

Looks like the CD is a version of that Produced by Jim White. He has done lots of work developing a cognitive behavioural educational approach to managing stress and in particular anxiety. (And yep before I get anyones knickers in a twist I do appreciate that CBT is just one treatment modality and that other forms of interventions can be effective for stress and anxiety)

He developed a 'course' called STRESSPAC which is often delivered free, and by health professionals certainly was when I was involved in research for it so might be worth checking out your local PCT or health board websites or mental health info lines for more info

So hopefully if my memory serves it should be pretty useful, many of my patients either loved or hated the deep scottinsh tomes of Mr white though.

regards

You are lucky!

Unhappy Scotland Relaxation Brochure/CD

I live in England and have just tried to order the Brochure and CD only to be stopped after submitting my address with a message saying that 'my post code is not one in Scotland and they do not offer the CD/Brochure outside of Scotland' - oh well. Nice one to those of you in England who have managed to get it sent to you!

Well, it was a nice idea, but I suppose it's only fair for the Scottish NHS to limit it to their area - we'll have to see if our own areas can send us out a copy.
If you see me on here - shout at me to get off and go and get something useful done!!
