Checked in Luggage and hand Luggage

Hi, I am going to Lanzarote in June, flying out from Manchester with Monarch airlines and I am getting a bit confused about the rules by most airlines as to what you can take in your hand luggage as regards to liquids etc. All I would normally take in my hand luggage is my flight documents, ie, (tickets, travel insurance, passport),non prescription tablets for headaches etc, purse and a book to read on the plane. Can I still pack my Toiletries in my suitcase such as shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, deodorant, sun lotions, moisteriser, shower gels, perfume, or do I have to pack them all in my hand luggage in the required quantities of 100 ml plastic bottles each and not exceding a total of 1 litre capacity in the required resealable bag? I have bought several items from Asda in their £1 range which are 100mls and have found it very hard to buy sun lotions in 100ml bottles. Surely I would not pack shampoo and conditioner etc in my hand luggage as I would not be washing my hair on the plane and I would not be sunbathing in the cabin either.
Also do I have to still pack my electicals in my hand luggage or can they go in my suitcase?
Thankyou.

The restriction on liquids only applies to your hand luggage and not your checked bags. If you do put any liquids or creams in your hand luggage they need to be 100ml or less each and all fit in a 20cm square clear plastic ziplock bag.
You can put electricals in either your hand or checked bag.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Hi,
You need to go onto the Monarch Airlines website and check their baggage advice. Then go to the Manchester airport site and check the general liquid restriction.
That details all liquids and current security restrictions.0 -
You can pack liquids and electricals in your suitcase, and the liquids can be in larger sized bottles (bigger than 100ml) if that's what you want to take with you.
However, I generally decant all my toiletries into smaller bottles anyway so they take up less space in my suitcase (and weigh less). The travel sized bottles of shampoo etc will normally last you a week even if you wash your hair every day (as I do on holiday, and I have medium length hair), then you can throw them away before you come home to save even more space (which can then be filled with holiday purchases!).
I would normally pack in my hand luggage - travel documents, purse, mp3 player, camera, book, lipbalm, hand cream, wet wipes, and a spare pair of knickers and a bikini, just in case my suitcase doesn't turn up (which happened once when I was travelling to Indonesia on business. After spending 2 days wearing the same clothes in a hot factory, you tend to want to be prepared next time!).Common sense just isn't that common any more....0 -

I used to take smaller bottles, but since having my daughter and having been to a few poorer countries i now take fullsize bottles and give them away to the cleaners or the kids club staff or the reps who all earn peanuts and if most people did this they would be a lot better off. Also how many people got caught out with not having enough stuff to last when they got stranded by the ash cloud, and as Aquarius says it leaves room then to bring back all sorts of goodies from my holiday.0 -

Whatever you do don't put a jar of peanut butter in your hand luggage as the airport police will confiscate it.0
