Would an EON rep please advise what the window is for a meter reading to be used for a bill? My next bill is around 4/12 and I received an e-mail last week asking for a meter reading.

I Believe the reading window is 14 days either side of the bill date, But i am sure a rep will be along soon to confirm / deny this.

At a guess I would say as soon as you receive the email or within a couple of days.

    Hi rhiwfield,

All quarterly billed residential customers will receive an email prompt to ask for a reading 14 days before the bill is due. The reading can be provided any day within these 14 days.

If we don’t have a reading from either the meter reader or the customer by the time the bill is due we will still send another email as a reminder before we estimate the bill.

Any other questions please feel free to ask.

  • That's good to know, my quarterely bill is due on 10th December, I enter my meter readings on the 1st of every month so hopefully this will be enough time before my bill is produced.

    Hi Lesley_Allen,

That's right, entering your reading on the 1st will be nicely within the window.

A nice idea if it worked in practice. I used to get the e-mails but now they have stopped, and yes my details are correct on the site as I do get other e-mailings. I managed to catch the last bill by noticing that my electric had been read by a meter reader so put in a reading for gas and it was used for the bill.

    Hi molerat,

Have you spoke to us about this?

There should be emails sent to you, if you're not receiving any emails from E.ON then either they are not being sent or they are being blocked from reaching your email inbox.

I can help look into this if you'd like? You can email me personally using the email address on the left. :)
