Where would be hot in February? Poss Egypt??

Hi All,

My friend and I are looking to go away for a cheap AI week somewhere hot in early February. I have been looking at Egypt but the weather does not look very hot. Has any one been to Egypt in February?

Where else could we look at for sun and relaxing?

Budget is £400 each flying from any London airport would prefer AI?

Thanks all in advance.

I’m back and more determined than ever!!!!!

    Peoples' definition of hot can vary wildly so perhaps you should consult a world weather website for further info as to which destinations would suit?

    Having said that, this advice is spot on IMHO:
    That said, it is probably going to be your best bet in Feb for a cheap sunny getaway.

    Never been to Canaries at that time of year but canaryforum says this about the weather in Tenerife:
    January & February temperatures average nearer 25C / 77F with high humidity, often windy and this is when it's most likely to rain here in the south. Parts of the island (usually the north or central areas) flood & dry beds become rivers as reservoirs overflow. Fortunately, a rainy spell rarely lasts more than a day and is usually followed perfect, holiday weather the day after!
    That would be hot enough for me! :D
  • we went to Sharm in Jan and it was hot during the day 75+ but cool at night
    BREXIT OOPS
  • I went to Egypt in December and found it mild. Yet when i said this on this very forum the other week apparently i was wrong and must have gone to a different Egypt.
    It was warm don't get me wrong, but it certainly wasn't hot. Im talking T shirt and 3/4 weather - Not getting naked by the pool weather.

    I agree, I went in December a few years ago and it was mild in the day but freezing in the evening!

    I expect February would be warmer but not unbearbly hot as it is in July / Aug / Sept
  • We visited Hurghada in February - if you managed to get behind a good windbreak you could just about strip off for the middle of the day. The wind was very cold and once the sun had gone at around 4pm it was definitely coat, scarf and gloves weather! I did come back with a tan though!

    My daughter visited the same area 4 weeks later and said it was lovely as the wind had dropped - apparently this is quite normal. :cool:
  • Red Sea only 'warm' in winter,we had overcast up in TABA.Prob best time of year for NILE hols cos unbearable most of the year.Also Egypt in press recently for 'scanning'at airport for FLU.Lots of my friends going to GOA,this winter, although you need a VISA sorted before you go,very good weather and value.

    For me Egypt in winter would be never hot enough!!

    We went to Gambia last Feb (tighter budget then now) and that was hot enough (maybe even too much:rotfl:) and last minute I think you can get hold of AI for £400.

    This Feb we went to Goa for fortnight and that was great too! Though the budget for this one was a bit higher. No need of AI though - everything dead cheap and you can move around without worry.

    While in Gambia we didn't leave hotel much. Being women alone we got mindered a lot outside of the hotel - unless you go with guide, which is great. But that is not an option for every day, so I would opt for AI. Very nice hotels as well.

    This February coming we are going to Dominican Republic - Can't wait!!
  • From my experience at these times...

    Hot =The Gambia, Dubai, Goa
    Warm = Egypt, Canaries
    Warmer than here = Israel, Med

    Don't know the Carribean at all but might be an option?
    Also, Cape Verde may be nice in Feb.

    ooooo I need to get some sun :D
    Always on the hunt for a bargain.
  • Cyprus was pleasant in April, but not hot hot. I think you might be pushing it for February, to be honest.
