HSBC Bank Account - Can't find account number
Hi
I recently applied for an HSBC account. The first thing that arrived today was the card. Normally it has the account number and sort code, but on the card it just has a 9 digit "card number"
Can I find out my account number from this, I need to transfer some money to it online, but as I have no account number, am unable to do
TIA

Is your card a debit card? If so you can easily find your account number. The long number across your card should be:
6759 - (6 digit sortcode) - (8 digit account number)

It's a Maestro 6 digits then 12 digits. The 6 bear no resemblance to the sort code or "code number" as it is called on the card 40 ** **

You didn't understand cifpower's advice.
You ignore the leading 4 numbers which should be 6759
The next 6 numbers starting with 40 are your sort code
The next 8 numbers are your account number
