Repairing white-good recommendations

Options
Hi,

My Hotpoint washer dryer has developed a leak and I'd like to get it repaired.

It has broken before and I've previously used hotpointservice.co.uk to fix it, I had no particular issue with their service but I expect there might be cheaper options.

I'm based in Sandhurst if people have local instead of nationwide recommendations.

I recognise at this point I should consider replacing but I would like to compare options first.

Thanks

Both of your posts on this forum appear to be very spammy in their nature!

Really! How? I had to look up my first post from 2013 to check but both posts have been legitimate requests for information.

This time I'm looking at ways of saving money by repairing white goods, I thought there might be an article about repair over disposal on the site but I couldn't find one.

I don't post here that often because there normally is an article that covers my query, not this time though.

    Are you really Miss Marple?

I've looked, but I'm obviously too simple to see this!

My apologies if I have misread things but your first post seemed to me to be read from a company spiel sheet, leading me to believe that your second posts was spammy due to the needless inclusion of a web address (the first one also telling people to google a certain company).

To help your situation a 'local' reapirer will almost always be cheaper, or a better option, than a national repairer. If national subcontracts to a local guy then you will be paying for this service. The national company will lively pay less than that contracter would get if they sourced their own work so they may try to do things quicker or cheaper.

Find yourself a local reputable repair guy by asking your frineds, family, collegues etc.
