Life Assurance - is this a competitive quote?

Hello
My employer is offering me the chance to take out life assurance for my partner (I am already covered as a perk).
Cover available from £50k to £500k cash payout in the event of my partner's death while covered.
No requirement for underwriting, and cost is about £9 per month per £50k lump sum of coverage.
My question is - how competitive is this?
Should I take it, or shop around?
anything else I should consider here?
He is in his mid 50's and in good health.

The main thing to consider is whether your partner needs life insurance?0

If there is no underwriting I suspect that may be an "accidental death only policy" ie it only pays out if death is the direct result of an accident.0
