Santander Regular Saver

Options
Where can I find a list of what the interest rate was for previous months on this regular saver account? I'm sure it was 5% before, so I reckon my question is, did it change to just 3% on the 18th?

For those with the original it's still 5% AER...if that's your reason for asking?

    It's Issue 2 that's now paying 3% AER.

Yes sorry. I thought because it said variable they had changed the rate. Well that's good news indeed.

EDIT: Let me rephrase that. I believed that because the new regular e-saver (issue 2) was only giving 3%, that they had also reduced the rate on the issue 1 savers because those were variable rates.

You'd know if they had, because they'd have given you 2 months notice in writing.

Is it still worth opening at 3%?

On the face of it, yes, but it's not going to make you rich. A basic calculation shows that it'll pay roughly £36 for the £200 per month for a year.

If nothing else changes I'm not sure whether I'll bother to renew if it means phoning Santander again but if I can do it online I probably will.
    I hate verisimilitude.

Yes, just noticed that you can`t do it online, so I won`t bother.
