I applied for Attendance Allowance for my mother two weeks ago.
I am her DWP apointee.
We still haven't heard anything.
What happens - is it paid into the bank account supplied, or do we get paper work first?
Am I being impatient or should we contact DWP to find out when it will be paid? The local authority needs to know as her social care package is being funded by the awarding of AA.

AA used to happen quite quickly it seems not to be the case now and people have reported 12 week waits, so I would give it a little longer than 2 weeks.
Sometimes you might get a payment before the paperwork, but remember NO benefit is a foregone conclusion.0 -

Info here. Suggesting that you ring after eight weeks if you haven't heard0 -
I would agree, 12 weeks is about right. My wife's took just over as she had to have someone to assess her at home just to check that everything stated on the form was true.
No idea what the period was in the past, but I can well believe it would have been much shorter.0
