No, from the sheriff court. (The government don't deal with issuing court claims!)0 -

BWLegal in England are currently making a pigs ear on their claims
and there is no reason not to think they will do so in Scotland
In general they are incompetent

As you say they use the word "may" and that indicates they are
unsure themselves
They need to know who the driver is/was so thats why you ignore them unless they are brave enough to tackle scotland.
One of their favourite little wheezes is to rely on Elliot v Loake

Reread the letter and they actually say they will, which I guess is still !!!!!!!!. I'm willing to defend anyway if they do come knocking. The company illegally gave me a ticket a few months ago and I won the appeal because they'd actually gave me the ticket on public land so maybe they're taking that as evidence that I was driving.0

So you appealed and won ????0 -
Different ticket entirely. The one they're attempting to sue me for is 7 months ago and the successfully appealed one was about 2 ago.0

Just because it was a private company doing it, doesn't mean it's OK, nor that it's all alright because they cancelled it. I would drop them in the brown stuff before you go.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No one should be grateful to a PPC for 'letting them off'! If there is any chance of revenge, it should be taken. The more that do this, the less likely the PPC will chance their arm on dubious cases.
DPA breach claims, once motoring, will help in this regard. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
